I Love You My Son

by Nancy   Dec 21, 2007

My twelve year old son,
Oh what have you done?
You're so full of anger and deceit,
Not yet able to stand on your own two feet.
We argue and fight morning, noon and night,
Oh, there you go again, smashing the light,
I try to talk,
You just turn and walk.
We can't get along no matter how hard I try,
Most days I just want to sit down and cry.

What has happened to you, my first born son?
Did the boy I once knew just take off and run?
You refuse to follow the rules in our home,
You're always threatening to run and go out on your own.
I just can't take the pain anymore,
And now you are heading straight out the door.
Off to your dad's, now your bags are all packed,
Do you think you will ever be coming back?

I worry and fret about you all the time,
But you think I'm not worth much, not even a dime.
No matter what happens after you depart,
Just remember, my son....
I love you with all of my heart!
