Prayer for Strength

No longer a prayer for my passing,
Close my eyes, clasp my hands.
I pray for strength.
Strength to put my past pain and behind me.

Accepting I'm not loved unconditionally here (on earth),
Stand tall, lift my heart high.
I pray for courage.
Courage to get me through the pain I'm living with.

No confidence, low self-esteem, I still feel worthless,
kneel down, bow my head.
I pray for knowledge.
Knowledge to believe i am worthy of this life.

Talented at hiding my true emotions,
Break through the wall, look to the sky.
I pray for might.
Might for strength to no longer feel guilt or fear.

Continually feeling lonely in this world,
Open my heart, raise my hands.
I pray once more for strength.
Strength to be happy with this life, alone, or surrounded.

This I pray, my prayer for me.
I'll close my eyes, look deep into myself,
Find my meaning in this life i have been blessed with.
I pray this.
