Farewell Friendship

by Ashley   Jul 8, 2007

True friendships are hard to find.
You meet someone and they promise forever.
Things change over time, people change over time.
I find myself waiting and trying to press rewind.
I'm losing my grip on what it is I found.
I'm starting to trip and you just let me hit the ground.

Between us I can't stand the unbearable sound.
To see your frown turned upside down
Showing me what's lost between us doesn't bother you a bit
Smothers me to the point where I can't breathe and want to quit.
Just turn around and leave, I don't need you anymore.
I'll brush you off my sleeve, straight ahead is the door.

Friends for so long, now it ends in a flash
All because we let someone walk through our path.
Wish I hadn't met you, because of all the pain
Can't believe I let you, drive me to insane.
We are falling apart like links on a chain
No longer will our friendship ever remain.
You've changed and it won't ever be the same.
