Heart in my Hands [Sonnet]

by Andrew Morton   Jul 9, 2007

A slave to your deepest wishes and desires,
my apologies that i didn't see it sooner.
you were seeking everything that i couldn't give,
but still my heart's in my hands to me to deliver.
i know I'm in no position to ask anything of you,
but will you do the favor of accepting my love?
everything that I have I will give to you,
and i will continue to pray to the sky above.
but the clouds start moving and cover the light
and you still seem to shine just the same
i know i'll never be able to give you much
but it is my hope, that you will accept my name
