When You Were Gone

From the moment we met,
The was just something about you.
Catching my attention instantly.

We shared laughs and life stories
Somehow made it close to my heart.
Spending hours talking, losing sleep.

One day we didn't talk.
Day turned to night, and night turned to many nights.
Thought you were gone for good.

I entered a dark place.
Feeling hurt, pain and suicidal.
Prayed for my life to be taken.

Wanting to feel Happiness, Love and Joy.
Depression fell upon me, but couldn't let it show.
People walked all over me; nothing i could do.

Then something amazing happened.
You came back to me!
Was ready for death, it was you who pulled me back.

I prayed for strength.
God sent me an angel.
You saved me from my own darkness.

Possibly this was divine.
Either way your my hero and my angel.
I'm thankful to be able to call you my friend.

When you were gone,
There wasn't a time when i stopped thinking about you.
Now that your back, I'm going to hold on for dear life .
