Our Beloved Country

by kylie   Jul 11, 2007

Dreams have been demolished
All futures damaged
It only took one man
To change the lives of thousands

Some queues are longer
Because or necessity
Others are shorter
Because of the loss of hope

Some have fled
To find a better place
But we all return to our home
Some more often than others

Those that are battling on
Survive by a thread
That is threatening to break
At any second

Our home seems to be sinking
We pray that it will it the bottom soon
So that it can’t go down anymore
But only up

To lose hope
Would be to lose a life
We all took for granted
Until it was unkindly snatched away

A life that perfect
Can never last forever
But why now must it become so bad
That it is unlivable

Our beloved country
Locked in a midst of depression
But how can we give up
On something that is so precious
Something that we thought would never end
We have to keep holding on
To our only real home
Zimbabwe
