Missing faith

by Braelyn Beaumont   Jul 11, 2007

I've had a faith; it's missing
believing through wandering eyes
upon which is, to see this now
a sheep in wolf's disguise

I've had a faith; it's missing
traveling souls in borrowed clothes
beyond a flight within the sorrow
to look but not suppose

I've had a faith; it's missing
following those who were before
beside a spirit of broken song
a flow of nevermore

I've had a faith; it's missing
sleeping with stars so near
around it goes unto the light
to dream but not appear

I've had a faith; it's missing
breathing a hopeful breath
along a path where darkness falls
a kindred tear of death

I've had a faith; it's missing
twisting across great divides
atop a heap of crumbling hope
to finish but not subside

I've had a faith; it's missing
turning aloud again
below the line which is the soul
forever marks the end.
