Remembering Happiness

I look back on my life
On these past fifteen years
I try to remember all the smiles
And forget all the tears.

Looking back on those moments
When not a fear crossed my mind
I try to remember the happiness
And leave all the pain behind.

Remembering my wonderful youth
When I could always just be myself
Not have to worry what others think
Not worry about popularity, style, or wealth.

I look at old photographs
That bring me back to that time and place
Missing those years when I just didn't care
As I see myself with a big smile on my face.

As I grow up I want to let go
Of every moment of hurt and cries
And hold on to the memories of joy
Each happy time that passes by.
