My Way

by Lexie   Jul 16, 2007

In a dark secluded area,
Somewhere along the highway.
She sat down on the sidewalk,
Knowing nothing ever goes her way.

She thinks as the cars go by,
The roaring sound of the highway continues.
If she'll ever put herself together again,
And continue her journey.

She has been through a lot,
She's been through some pain.
But her inner strength inside her
Has always remained.

She's always thought she wouldn't make it,
In this miserable thing called life.
But as her aspirations have taught her,
She's been making it alright.

This girl may not be perfect,
This girl may not be nice.
This girl is one strong person,
Trying to make it through life.

Somehow, somewhere.
She found her inner strength.
To become what her dreams have taught her,
And enter into the light.

In a bright, shining street,
Along the mysterious highway.
I sit on the sidewalk.
Knowing everything has went my way.
