Daddy wasn't there

by LindaPham   Apr 25, 2004

You're never there
it's like you don't care
you missed my birth
you missed showing me earth.

you missed my first birthday
and all the others too
and my first word
daddy can't you see i need you?

you missed my first step
the first one i took
why do you always have to leave
can't you just take a moment to look?

you missed my first day at school
i did really great
but I was still very sad
at least you were there when i turned eight.

you missed my graduation day
there was an empty Seet just for you
just like that empty spot in my heart
also waiting to be filled by you.

you pretty much missed most of my life
so lonely am I
I often sit here quietly and cry
all alone.

so i sit here waiting to be loved by you
hoping for you to tell me you love me too
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
OK well maybe i kinda exaggerated a little but that's pretty much i how i feel my dad wasn't there all the time but he was there when i really needed, and there to love me.

I really like your poem, and I can very much relate. I'm with you girl.
