Lead Me Not

by Carlee Ann   Jul 23, 2007

All I can do is pray
That this will quickly pass -
This battle has been fought too long!
Who knows how long it will last?

'Lead me not into temptation,'
From my weakness let me flee
Give me Your strength, O Lord,
To look but for once not see.

I can't take it again and again,
But each and every time I do,
Someone insincere is near
And draws me far from You.

I try to remember the right
But it's hard when wrong is icing -
Sweet, pleasurable, indulging;
Each taste just so enticing.

Bless-ed be the righteous ones,
And the wicked down must fall.
I need your strength now, deeper;
Give me, Lord, Your all.
