WHY DO I HATE WHO I AM?

When i look in the mirror
i should be proud of myself
yet when i look in the mirror
i wish i was someone else

you don't understand
how disappointed i am each day
hoping for another life
in hundreds of different ways

the pain i feel
when i sleep at night
wishing i could just make my life right

try to change things
from the way they are now
i only ever think
why bother and how

how do i wipe up
the mistakes i have caused
so many times
i wish they had just paused

so i can think before i speak
& look before i do
not only have i hurt me
but i have also hurt you too
