Summer Time Blues

by Erin   Jul 26, 2007

Summer time blues,
got me holding onto you.
I was face down on your basement floor,
you told me, "he's not worth it; you deserve more."

Summer time tears,
the reasons for my fears.
You said "He may be gone,
but you're not alone. Its time to move on."

Summer time nights,
the stars were our lights.
"I'm afraid to grow up," you said.
"All this talk of leaving has finally gone to my head."

As summer time dreams fade,
our promise remains the same.
I think, that if we'd never met,
I'd still miss you, every second, every minute.
