The Girl

by Sharon   Jul 26, 2007

A girl walked down the street with tears streaming down her eyes but nobody knew why,
a couple of strangers would stop and stare but no one would ask the girl if she was alright and crying she walked away into the night.

She walks and walks till she reaches the park the only place that she knows and she loves with her heart,
her house is not a home to her and as of this night theres no one left to love her there.

She climbs into the tunnel where she used to laugh and play as a child never thinking about the day when all of her innocence and joy would slip away
She lays down her head and begins to sleep but before she can stop herself, again she starts to weep.

The poor girl cries herself to sleep with nothing to cover her on a night that was so bleak
Not caring about the dangers in the night that lays ahead she let out her tears and rests her head.

Waking up in the morning and only to find that she had truly been left behind
Back in the house that she had once called a home no one was there to answer the phone.

Just a wife with no husband lying dead on the ground, but nobody will notice in this part of town
The girl keeps walking to a shelter that was near hoping she could find some one to love her here.

Clean clothes, and some food is the first thing she got which was better than home where her mom let her rot As she looked around there were people who, looked like their mothers had left them too.

Suicide is the answer her mother had said which is the reason she lies at home dead
She just couldnt handle being a single mother, the woman never could find the father.

She left her child defenseless and all by herself, had never stopped to consider her daughters health
But the girl has forgotten her let go of her past, she knows that the misery will no longer last.

As she leaves with the family who wanted her so she would always be loved and this she did know.
