Pulse

by Ariana   Jul 30, 2007

I felt your pulse, while you slept
pressing my lips against your neck.

As you slumbered amid your dreams,
dancing among twilight moonbeams,
I opened eyes and felt inclined,
To check you were still here, and mine.
And so, to put my mind at rest,
I kissed the blood, beneath your flesh.

I aimed to stay there all nightlong,
make sure your heartbeat still stayed strong.
But upon knowing you were at peace,
I slipped away, back into sleep.

This is really a very unique poem, very strong words and very nicely expressed.

I aimed to stay there all nightlong,
make sure your heartbeat still stayed strong.
But upon knowing you were at peace,
I slipped away, back into sleep.
