Memories

by Blackthistle   Aug 2, 2007

I think about it all the time
I wonder where we're going
I see your faces in my dreams
I know I've started crying.

But I remember certain things
About each and every one.
Those special moments when I know
We're all under the same sun.

I remember our first meeting
I remember our first lunch
Three years ago these things did happen
In three year they will have faded.

But I remember certain days
About every single week
Those little moments when I hope
My memories won't leak.

I remember our first party
I remember our first tears
Telling each other everything
And sharing all our fears.

But things changed from year to year
We distanced and we neared
And now I need to tell you
The very thing I most feared.

I remember the first storm
And the days of anti-government
I remember our first fights
And the arguments ensuing.

But fears came true
And fell away
But I still hope to see your face
Tomorrow if not today.

But hopes are dreams
And dreams are rare
They seldom do come true
So now I dream and wonder
How we will all fare.

Because memories last longer
Than a photograph or film
And mine are full of happiness
To help them not to fade...
