Once Invincible

by Maria   Aug 3, 2007

I was so invincible when it came to life
there wasn't anything that could wipe my smile to the side.
I was strong as iron when problems came my way.
Now I'm the one without a breath, without a word to say.
We're going to the movies, and going to the park.
You promised me we'd catch up on missed time.
You said "no matter what"
I'm sitting in your room.
I'm saving you a seat.
You and i can watch a movie together
and laugh over stupid things loudly.
I'm not listening when they tell me you're gone.
I guess you just have no minutes on your phone.
We're going to take some pictures
and sing goofy songs.
We're going to spend time together.
We should have done that all along.
Are you sleeping?
Why won't you wake up.
Why are you off somewhere
that i can't bring you back.
Did you just walk away?
Or are you just gone for a few days.
Well when you do finally come home,
don't think I've ever thought you were truly gone.
I'll be sitting here in your room,
saving you a seat.
You and I are going to catch up on lost time.
I know you wouldn't truly leave me.
