Twilight In My Heart

by Dan   Aug 4, 2007

The place where I call home
Where I can travel to and fro
Is in the reaches of my person
Deep and way down low

In the abyssal zone of love
A sleeping dragon rests
Rumbling and snoring
In his fiery abode

The fire in his belly
Rumbles to me so
He makes my heart beat faster
Continues my life flow

He gives me passion
A new found strength
In my deepest reaches
He proudly calls his home

I fear that he may leave me
He grows restless as I wait
If only I could tell you
Is it already too late?

The fact you might reject me
Haunts me in my mind
A thousand spools of feelings
Wound tightly yet so fine

My lips quiver slighty
As I try to speak those words
So listen as I speak them
Be they the only thing you've heard

I gaze into your eyes
Gateways to the soul
I fear that now the time is neigh
To achieve my lost goal

The dragon whom represents my love
Makes my heart beat faster
Then I say the words
They linger ever after

Upon the wind
Hark do I hear?
The soft words of our voices
Carried to my ear

So many years after
With you in my arms
I hear the words again
"I love you" they whisper, I'm so glad they found their mark
