The Scars She Caused

by Brooke Mason   Aug 4, 2007

She stared at the screen
Harsh words in her head
Wishing silently
That she was dead

What she saw
Would never leave
Something that even
Malice couldn't conceive

She cried these tears
Of scarlet pain
Hoping that
The memories would fade

But here they stay
Entombed in love
Her friend gone forever
Ascending above

Her heart shattered
Her chest in sorrow
Going to sleep
Forgetting tomorrow

She'll always be there
With open arms
But with eyes glistened
Showing the harm

A blood-covered shirt
She looked to the stars
Thanking God that her friend
Couldn't see the scars
