The Doctor Said

I talked to your doctor he said every things ready for today
Her little girl smiled up at her and said okay
Will you be alright She cried
I always am mother she said with a smile
Today they'd try again to get the tumor out of her brain
The thing she dreaded most was her mothers worry not the pain
She was everything her mother had her heart her mind and soul
And now the horrible reality was coming true she had been told
This little girl was dying and there was nothing she could do
Her mother would be all alone and this was all to true
Nothing could save her from this hopelessness she was doomed
Or from all the pain and suffering that was everything she knew
But the surgery was on and they were already in the car
She turned and watched as her house slowly grew far

They wheeled her into the room with her teddy in her arms
She said goodbye to mommy and told her don't be alarmed
If this time I don't come out okay
Just remember that I love you and don't forget to pray
So her mother took her hand and kissed it as she said
I will always love you now rest your little head
And she drifted off to sleep hoping to be cured
But before she was totally out suddenly she heard
Her mother being lead away but she turned she asked
So when this is over will my little girl be back
The doctor answered regretting his reply
If you daughter makes it but theres a chance shell die

Lost in thought in the waiting room hours ticking by
Thinking of her little one and trying not to cry
After a long 10 hours the nurse came out to say
Ma-am I'm afraid you didn't remember to pray
And her mothers eyes filled with tears and she fell into the chair
As the nurse tried to leave the crying mother asked to cut some of her hair
She said she would but shook her head and she went to the room
Under her breath she muttered That little girl was doomed
