The Other Woman

I lay in bed awaiting a phone call from you,
You usually would call me around that time,
You would usually pick me up this late at night,
While your girlfriend was asleep.

I would get into your car,
And kiss you and tell you I missed you,
And you would kiss me back and hug me,
And tell me you missed me too.

Then we would go to a hotel,
And spend the whole night together,
But when I would awake in the night,
I would realize that you left me there alone.

I would always ask about your girlfriend,
And you would just tell me that you two were through,
And I would always believe what you said,
Even though you were playing with my head.

You would tell me that you loved me,
And I would tell you I loved you back,
But I knew you couldn't love me,
With her in my way just like that.

To me, she was the other woman,
And I was your number one,
I knew you wouldn't leave her alone,
And I knew you two weren't done.

One day while you were at work,
I called her cell phone number,
She asked me why I was calling her,
So I told her...

I told her that me and you,
Had something going on,
She told me that I was lying,
And she called me a home-wrecker.

She told me that you,
Had proposed to her just the other night,
And the feeling I felt in my gut,
Just told me she was right.

But I still told her she was wrong,
Now I'm just awaiting your phone call,
And you haven't called me for a week,
I guess I was the other woman.
