A girl that just isn't me

by Christina   Aug 9, 2007

Tear drops wasted on such a pretty face,
in which no guys mind can erase.
Tear drops stain such beautiful skin,
to stain such a face is surely a sin.
But behind this face is a surprise,
that she holds in her eyes.
To the outside she is pretty cool,
but each one of them is a fool.
For none look past what they see,
a girl that just isn't me.
She is my reflection,
catching everyone's attention.
But what I see,
isn't anything like me.
She has confidence I do not,
she has laughter that I have forgot.
Surely this girl is not me,
because her I could never be.
But the fights have worn me down,
and now knowing that he's not around.
She smiles with tears in her eyes,
but her spirit flies.
So why must we look,
at the someone that he took.
At the someone that is no longer here,
At the someone that I remember all to clear.
I miss her just as much as you,
and I wish she would come back too.
But right now that girl you see,
the girl in the mirror just isn't me.
