My deaf ear

by sandra   Aug 11, 2007

My deaf ear does not hear.
Nor does it sign
It sits on the side of my beautiful face
patient
It does not react to emotion
It does not reflect on the situation

It is
It just is
Without really being much more than a deaf ear.
I used to wish my deaf ear could hear,
that was back when i used to care.

Now i let it rest
without abuse
It has been subject to so much misuse,
I am surprised it is still there,
Sitting on the left side of my face.

But afterall it is not my left ear that has heard, or reflected on its misuse,
It was my right ear that endured the abuse
I guess i just felt sorry for the left one.

But it is the left one that is smart
Now the right one has decidedly tuned out to abuse
For the case remains,
they are just ears!
who really cares
that my left ear cant hear.
