Fate

by Teenyxoxx   Aug 13, 2007

She lies in her bed
body full of dread
hoping the next day won't come.
She wants to be great
but that isn't her fate.
She's destined to get very numb.

They expect her to fail
when her hopes set sail.
She's going to prove them wrong.
But see, that won't fit
and that problem with it,
is that the process would just take too long

She knows they are right
and there won't be a fight
so as she reaches for the bottle of rum
she knows she's not great
and she knows that her fate
is that she will get very numb.
