Blackness

by Ressa   Apr 28, 2004

Staring out the window
Cold blackness
beyond the cool glass
so many fears
so much pain
A tiny sound and I freeze
terrified thoughts filling my head
I remember
Once I enjoyed the night
took comfort in its blanket of stars
the warm darkness surrounding me
Now it holds only shadows
Nightmares of the past
and things yet to come
it whispers foul of foul deeds
promising nothing
but black dreams
and shattered innocence
