Betrayal

by Heather   Aug 23, 2007

She sat on the edge,
ready to jump,
beside her,
the one she loved,
he held her hand,
promised to jump with her.

they would be together in the next world,
he was already dead,
she knew that,
but her death was the cost of her love,
she refused to give him up.

be with him now,
or be alone forever with his painful memory,
this was easier,
this way it could really be forever,
the stars danced around them,
the trees and the flowers whistled softly in the breeze,
of course none of it was real,
her heart was tricking her yet again.

but if she could stay in this moment with him,
this one moment of true devotion,
shouldn't she?

he pulled her up and kissed her,
her heels were at the edge,
they said i love you in unison,
as the sweet words wrapped together,
and surrounded her in a bright pink light,
he pushed her,
he assured her he'd be waiting for her.

but the thing about death is we never know where we'll end up,
as she hit the ground,
the pink light was over taken by a darkness,
chains bound upon her limbs pulling her down,
as she reached for his hand,
he pulled back,
he walked away.

lies... all lies...

how could he betray her?
she gave her life,
it was to late did she realize,
she had given her soul to a demon,
now he could once again have the physical body he had wanted so,
so much he would betray the heart of a stupid girl...
in love...
