The picture

by Joe   Aug 25, 2007

A man was told he won't be existing for long
He goes to his empty home to find a bill of eviction
He looks at the only picture of his wife who passed away with her child
He says maybe
Maybe I can live this out and have the life I still have yet to come
He leaves his home having a feeling of disgrace
Weeks pass as the man grows weaker
He sits on the streets with nothing but a cup
The beaker is empty
But not his heart as he stares into the picture
Alone he sleeps in the alley
Dreaming of when will he be happy
He wakes up feeling nothing in his soul
No feeling
No awareness
No happiness
No change
No health
Just his picture
He goes next to the highway where his wife and child died
Lays his picture on the side and goes into eternal slumber
