Everyday Is A Struggle

by njabulo b   Aug 27, 2007

If life was easy
Than they wouldnt be even
A single man starving
If life was easy
Than they wouldnt be even
A single child living
In the street
But its not easy
They are many shantytowns
And those people who are
Living there are starving
When you pass through any city
There are many poor children
Who dont have a shelter

Ive seen many glorious days
Many smooth shining stars
But they would never be a day
That would be bright and mournfully
Than the day I finished matric
When I was a scholar
I used to think that life is easy
Because every thing was running smooth
Today I see the life differently
Now I see life like a skull of a mountain
That is so difficult to climb
I once seen the Drankensburg Mountain
And thought its bigger than any mountain
But I see that I was wrong the
Biggest mountain is life.
I see life like a very big ocean
That is so hard to swim over
I see life like a very hot fire
Yet its hotter than fire

While we still into life
We wake up everyday t face this struggle
We always try to swim this ocean
And to climb this mountain
And everyday is a struggle
Beyond this hard try
There is a place of happiness
Where all our past will be erased
So I indeed to what Tupac said
That after every dark night
There is a brighter day
And no matter how hard its is
If you can make through the night
There will be a brighter day

Let us swim this ocean
Because one day we will reach the point
Let us climb this mountain
I know one day we will reach the top
And all our previous struggling
Will turn to joys

(im sorry if I post this on the wrong category i didnt know where to put its)
*the line 10 of stanza 3 is taken from Tuac Sharkur*
