Memories Persevere

The road of healing
Though obscure in its trials
Has restored my smile
The memories of the past
Have been branded within my heart
Recollections of his presence
Will forever last

Above, to the stars of his new home
I send prayers of peace
As I call upon his heavenly dome
My pain is slowly released

Tears have run free
Through many sleepless nights
Agony has thrashed upon my soul
Countless unhappy hours have passed me by
And yet today, I am smiling
I have no reason to cry
Because his spirit is with me
As I amble through each day

In the midst of my pleas
I have found comfort
For this treasure of memories
That rests within my mind
Contains perpetual power
Yes, I have found eternal bliss

On this starry night
With eyes gazing above
I express the purest love
As heaven's force sets me free
I salute my family, farewell

*** You have to find peace in your own way. If I believe he's here with me and if I believe he's watching over us, how can I still feel pain? It's still very hard to think he's actually gone but I'm finding comfort in believing he lives on.

    Very beautiful and peaceful write...I really enjoyed this stanza:

    His spirit will always be with you...and he does live on...inside of you.
