Without Me

by Beauty Within These Pages of Darkness   Aug 27, 2007

Ever since the day I was born,
That day I was born at dawn.
Since that day though, you've lied,
'Cos only now you tell me, that for the past 19 years, I've been a thorn in your side.

You say that I was a mistake,
I know that now, as my uncle said that you tried to throw me into a lake.
To you I've never been a convenience,
I've been an inconvenience.

According to you Ma, I was my Dad's fault,
But you just jumped into bed with him, you never said the word hault.
You just went ahead, and got pregnant,
Well guess what Ma, from hell is where I've been sent.

'Cos I've just got shot in the head,
By some silver led.
Shot from a gun,
I hope you realise now, that you have lost your son.

Ma, I hope you feel sad,
Or better still, feel really, really bad.
But if you think though, you've finally been set free,
You can start a new life now, without me.

I like the way it's written. How your poem tells a sad story. Keep up the good work.
