Night Fears

by enfant du tordu chagrin   Aug 28, 2007

As Darkness falls, so flees all light
Hark, the whisper of the night
With bated breath hear shadows flit
As terror gnaws in stomachs pit
On trembling legs against fate race
Fleeing fear in this lost place
With beating heart, down empty lane
For naught you scream, all cries in vain
Behind your back night terrors rear
Filling the mind, feeding the fear
Praying to powers "Hear this plea"
But one last burst and you'll be free...

    Powerful poem!
we are consumed by our fears and by one simple moment we can break free from them,
