A Secret Place

by Erica   Aug 29, 2007

Afraid and so alone
Just like she always was
She licked and cleaned her wounds
Just like she always does

She never built these walls
In which she likes to hide
Her mommy put her there
And kept the world outside

Dreams of outside places
Adventures into light
Were slayed by endless fear
And left disowned to night

But that was long ago
The little girl's grown up
She lost all her memories
And got her wounds sewn up

But in the dead of night
Where dying stars will lie
Somewhere in the distance
I still can hear her cry
