On a night out...

by Ashleigh   Aug 29, 2007

The nights alive with love, lust and heartbreak,
People everywhere intoxicated forgetting loved ones and making mistakes.
The music fills the air and I feel my lungs taking in the nights despair.
The scent of perfume, aftershave laughter and smoke,
Closes all around the room, almost enough to choke.

The bar is heaving with people waving around their money,
Some bloke chatting up the nearby girl, "Back to my place then honey?"
One Shot, two shot, three shot, four.
People slowly becoming slaves to the dance floor.
Every one thinking there the next Justin Timberlake,
And the sober people stand and watch saying, "Oh for god sake!"

The nights slowly ending and the last songs played,
Everyones under the spell and close there eyes and sway.
The bouncers clear them out,
The yobs all drunk scream and shout.
Trying to get the nearest girl back to their house,
But saying that they have to be quiet as a mouse,
She asks why and smothers him in kisses,
While he replies, "Or else you'll wake my missus."

Taxi after taxi disappears into the course,
People ordering kebabs and chips smothered in chilli sauce.
The crowd reduces and people are heading home,
There's always one girl crying as she's now alone.
Coppers arrive to clear the youths,
They all select a group to approach, a group to pick,
In the corner there's someone being sick.

The hour it's four,
The kebab vans gone,
People trying to get there keys in the door.
They make a noise and shush themselves.
Trying to sneak without waking the house elves.

Collapse on the bed,
Music still pumping in there ears and head,
They close there eyes and think how much money they lost,
And the relationship they've now cost.
Fill there lungs with clean air without a sorrow,
Thinking lets do the same tomorrow.
