Forget it

by purplemadness   Aug 31, 2007

And so we meet again after all these years,
Saying you are sorry and your face is full of tears.
I want to believe that you are sorry about what happened long ago,
But remember that you were the one that wanted to go.
It was you, who refused to fight for what we had,
And now you beg me to take you back.
You know what my answer will be,
You have so much nerve, after all what you did to me.
I try to respect your dignity and tell to just go away,
And walk on without looking back, just like you did on that day.
I have found another girl who loves me, for who I am,
Unlike you, she holds on to the thought that I am her man.
She might not always be close to me, and that is sad,
But we have a much greater love than you and I ever had.
Yeah, you could try to drive us apart,
But it will never happen, because I hold on to my heart.
I told you before, don't you come ringing my bell,
I tried to say it nice but you can go straight to hell.
The memory of you is still too fresh,
It hurts like a knife that gets turned in my flesh.
No, you just don't have what it takes,
The love I have now is pure, as pure as snowflakes.
She is the sun in my life; she makes everything shine bright,
Now go back to the place where our love died.
Just take your polluted soul with you and go,
Don't ask me why I act this way, you should know.
For quite a while there was silence in my heart,
It started just after you had torn us apart.
Later on I met this girl, that loved me straight away,
She brought the music back to my heart that blissful day.
So you see, you've had your chance but you ruined it all,
You have nothing to say about it, this is my call.
And even though you try to seduce me in the way I know so well,
I have found another love, look in my eyes and you can tell.
Please, don't offer yourself the way you do,
I have wept my last salty tears for you.
