To Hold a Star

by Shane   Sep 1, 2007

Wishes are simply
stars that have fallen astray,
a sin against the pre-destined.

To hope, to yearn a star to fall,
a capital offense against fate,
to rob the light of the privileged.

That all the stars in unison
should fall, till darkness
closed every eye, every truth,

Could I ever shift reality?
Could those eyes favor me?
In the darkness, my burden is unseen.

But even in blasphemy, I remain
soldier of delusion, giver of pain,
knowing that I must change,

To fit naturally in the heavens,
that you arranged.
