Empty Sky

Looking at the sky.
Trying to find my star
It's clear tonight.
But I can't find it
What could've happened
To the only star I wish upon
Swallowed by a black hole?
Forced into another galaxy?
Maybe it just went out
from burning far too long
Maybe it went out long ago
But I was too narrow to see.
