Passive Sustenance

You will never know how much sadness
one heart can sustain--
Until you burry a brother and mother;
a father and grandmother;
a wife and son;
at the same time...
Let these hearts weep;
Let them be free of built and pain--
for they have suffered enough in this lifetime...
Let the wounded find relief;
let the cancerous be healed;
and may the tired souls who have fought for so long..
finally rest in peace

-----
A woman, whom has known my mother for the past 25 years, and who knew me for quite some time as well, was suffering. She had cancer that had spread to her bones and was in a great deal of pain for the past 2 years of her life. Even though we all knew she was not able to stay in this world, none of us were prepared.

Her son, a few years older than my mother, was invovled in a car accident a few days ago. He died instantly at 7p.m. (Sept. 1, 2007) while his mother was in the hospital. (Sept. 2, 2007) His mother, whom we all loved like family and cared for greatly, passed away at 7p.m.

I will never be able to comprehend whild kind of pain and hurt his family is going through. Just the thought of losing two family members loved so dearly tears me apart. To imagine the kind of suffering this woman went through during her final 24 hours of life will haunt me. No person, especially one this kind-hearted, should ever have to feel this kind of torment.

I apologize for the long description here...
