Ravens

How can I study,
When just outside,
With a few mere inches of
Solid brick wall
Separating us,
A huge storm is hitting.
Trees bending and breaking
In the precarious winds,
Water rushing down the drainpipes
From the jet black storm clouds
Like ravens, a huge flock of ravens
Covering the sky.
Yes,
The night is black,
The trees defeated,
The water strong.
All of a sudden.
The ravens open their beaks,
CRASH!
The thunder roars like a thousand lions.
The ravens part, and
FLASH!
The lightning lights up the sky.
The ravens,
Terrified of this bright light,
Rush to fill the void,
So once again,
The night is black,
The trees defeated,
The water strong.
And the ravens
Continue to fly,
Until the great sun banishes them
To await another storm.
