You are my friend, yet I think I love you

You are my friend, yet I think I love you
Your warm gentle smile and your eyes so blue
Id do anything for you, for you to hold me
Every time I hug you, my heart fills with glee
You amaze me, your beauty and presence
But you deserve someone better, older, with essence
Although I amaze many, I have an abundance of love
If only you loved me, that would be enough
Im too young for you-or thats what everyone says
I might just have to admit it-it may be for the best
Id do anything for you, if only you could see
Im older, just trapped in a younger body
If only you loved me, my heart would be whole
If only you would hold me, and awaken my soul
Yet we remain friends, its how it has to be
If it werent for this body, youd see an older me
Dont look down on me, only `cuz Im young
If you knew I love you, youd hear my heart has sung
I want to be with you, despite discouraging words
Will we ever be together and fly away like birds?
I love you
I will die of unrequited love if thats how it has to be
If you looked beyond this body-youd see an older me
Maybe you already love me, as a friend-as much as you can
When I grow a little older, I might be part of you plan
We are friends now, and I hope that always remains
But someday when you love me, my heart will stop its rains
Oh I wish youd love me, tender and quite true
Oh I wish youd hold me, and gaze with eyes so blue
I love your energy, presence, and smile as big as can be
If it werent for this body, youd see an older me
