Being Mum

by Kirsty   Sep 8, 2007

If there's one thing to help you to smile,
One thing to get you through,
That one thing would be the love,
Your children give to you.
Their eyes are bright and lively,
Their smile can make your day,
They are young, yet so dependant,
On everything you do and say.

A child needs constant loving,
Attention all the time,
They crave for some acceptance,
And help to make them shine.
Sometimes they can be challenging,
Sometimes they just demand,
Sometimes they want a cuddle but,
You must be there at hand.

When you are a mother,
No longer can you see,
How life could be so wonderful,
Without your mini-me.
Because no-one can ever love you,
Like a baby loves his mum,
And no-one else could bring more joy,
More happiness or fun.

But those days will soon pass by,
And long before you know,
The little boy who needed you,
Has suddenly begun to grow.
He'll turn into a man one day,
And that is when you'll find,
You haven’t been the mum you want,
And it’s too late to turn back time.

So take this opportunity,
To hold your child and say,
I love you son and always will,
And will support you in every way.
I'll always be the one you need,
When days are feeling blue,
I'll always be there to lean on,
No matter what you do.
