What Had Once Been

by Tom Martin   Sep 9, 2007

Carve this majestic like a seaside cape
This forgotten love, crimson rain
Painting the ground like autumn leaves
What once had been shall never be
Turn away from me these dreams a reality

I felt the pain you kept locked away
I tried, wanted to help you see brighter days
You seemed to far away, and kept pushing farther
Now, as I watch the rain hit the ground
I can't help but to think of you
You meant so much to me, yet you have dissapeared
You stole my heart away, used it and doubted

Gone forever you are from my life
Tears start to fall, one with the rain
I am nothing without you, I have no will to live
My angel died with you gone, my spirit abandoned
Slowly you take my life away, leaving only a shell
Of what had once been
