Very Deep In My Heart

Very Deep In My Heart

I smiled and worked as though I cared
But deep inside I cried a river of tears
The pain I carried I could not bare

No one can tell my heart was lonely
For I carried it around for all the years
Hidden in my heart there was a fear

Love came knocking when I was despaired
It made me happy but I still fear
I smiled at myself when he was here

My aching heart found someone who cared
His tender love made me drop a tear
With his arms around me I am filled with cheer

The joy he bought me, stayed in my heart
A treasure to keep when we are far apart
I'll never forget the words he said

"Honey I love you, you are my sweet heart"
Your smile has brought me deep in your heart
We'll never forget till death do us part
