Behind Me ... Before Me

There was a life i left
I didn't want to be that girl
She was slightly insane
Mostly depressed
Holding together by the finest of threads
I wanted to be someone different
I thought i could be awesome
But that was a long way off
Who was i kidding?

I did leave that girl behind me
I left me Behind me
My soul came forth from my rotting self
And i shook all the dirt from me
And i was renewed
Maybe not awesome
But new
My life is not behind me
But before me
I went from being me... to ME!!

God is my father,
Jesus is my brother.
You are my family
Renewing myself felt good
Why cry when i can smile?
