TWIN TREE IV

by Hazel   Sep 12, 2007

She cries...
as the tree's wall crumbles
as it sheds hateful frustration
as it once again nurtures disgust
and hate eats it up whole

She cries...
as the tree finally leans on its own
as it drowns into a flood of confusion
as the tree allows the rescuing affection
and as it feels comforting sunrise after all

She cries...
as the tree lets sunrise linger each day
as its happy greens grow
yet its roots stay brittle
knowing the sun will soon lose its glow

She cries...
as the tree rests back on the wall
as its bark cracks revealing its soul
as it struggles forgetting brief moments
and as it stands brown, broken, and hollow
