Telling Herself.

by CareBear   Sep 19, 2007

Standing there so alone, so unsure
Holding his hand without hesitation
She's used to pretending
And she'll grow to love this pain

Uncertainty is all that surrounds her
Engulfing her, leaving her breathless
And strangling her from air
Confusions all she has now

A sinking feeling fills her stomach
It's been present for days now
What is she supposed to do
With no one left to turn to

It doesn't matter that she still loves him
It never really will
He's intoxicated her every thought
She's spinning in circles

And she's trying way too hard to forget
Every little thing he ever did
The one that stands beside her still,
She doesn't love him the way she loves him

His hand feels cold clenched in hers
But he's all she has now
And it's not that bad
Or so she keeps telling herself.
