Yesterday night
Though I can't say what you said
Gave me a fright

It seemed like a normal day for us
We IMed and you called my cell
Little did I know
I was gonna shed my shell

You broke up with your girlfriend
Not too long before
Because of the fact
That she was a w***e

Then you asked me
About my friends without a lover
Hoping, most likely
To find another

I said I had none
That I was the only one single
Then you tried to be funny
By hitting on me and trying to mingle

I thought you were kidding
When the attempt was at end
After which I said,
"I only see you as a friend"

Then you asked me a question
You asked me "why?"
Why I see you as a friend
And not a single guy

So I asked you the same
My shell started to shed
And, apparently
That's something you never said

I asked you something else
If you had feelings for me
However, this time your response
Took a bit longer to see

Because you were avoiding the subject
And I was too
Because I was scared of rejection
And you might've been too

Eventually you told me
It gave me an exciting scare
That some affection for me
Since a week was there

"Only one thing to say to that" I said
When you asked "what?" I knew you were in a fuss
Then I said
"That makes two of us"

I was so happy
I was higher than a kite
But I soon had to go
So we both sweetly said "Goodnight"
