Come Back To Me

Light and all deceives me
Smiles come so slight,
Lost in thought of dreams ahead
Concentration lost in might.

Happiness, one circumstance
Only he relieves my pain,
His arms my suit of armor
An umbrella to my rain.

Yet when he's gone it seeps right back
Into my mind it lays,
Waiting to attack at best
So in dreariness I'll stay.

It lurks in shadows looming near
And takes my every step,
I hope one day it will just cease
And myself will then be kept.
