Patriotic colors
White, blue and red
Picnics—fireworks
Popping overhead

Long warm nights
Moon high and bright
Beetles hover
Near the backdoor light

September
School books
New clothes
Fresh and crisp
Busses and chatter
Learning time begins

Leaves of auburn
Orange jack-o-lanterns
Little goblins, angels, and
panthers—
Candles burn
Treats in hand

November
Families
Warm scented kitchens
Grandma’s making
Her secret stuffin’
Grateful, satisfied
For all our blessings

Excited children
A loving season

Funny hats
Parades
