Last Night

by Maria   Sep 26, 2007

Last night I thought I heard the wind,
calling out to me,
From bed I rose to answer him,
to see what I could see,
Across the room a hunter's moon,
shone through window's pane,
Whil'st all the while he beckoned me,
with midnight's sad refrain,
Reaching in and taking hold,
of what one calls a soul,
All that I know is to the wind,
I ceded full control,
Of what I am, of what I was,
Of what I e'er shall be,
I felt his breath upon my face,
I felt his set me free.
Up into the firmament,
Up to heaven's vault,
he carried me to touch the stars,
Ensconced in his exalt.
