Neverending rant

by NonsensicallyNeurotic   Sep 28, 2007

"Hi." One word. That's all it takes. Then it's out there. Slap his name on the end for good measure. Smile. Just say it in the hall. How hard can it be? You've only been preparing to do this for over a week. It's no big deal, just give it a shot. You know that if you don't try you'll never forgive yourself. Here he comes, this is your chance. There's that winning smile. Cue your melting heart. There's that twinkle ih his eyes. Cue your stomach butterflies. Come on, spit it out, open your mouth and say that simple word. He's coming closer, just say it and be done. Why won't your mouth open? Where did your vocal chords go? You can't even manage that one simple syllable. Can you at least smile at him? You're not totally frozen. You're walking, aren't you? This is your last shot. He's about to walk past you, just say it. Please.
Now he's gone. Better luck next time.
